Savoir-Faire – Old vines, low yields, hand-picked. Aware of the richness and diversity of each plot, Vincent Bachelet strives to limit interventions on his vintages in order to preserve the typicality of the terroir. The wines are elaborated to highlight the elegance of Chardonnay and the delicacy of Pinot Noir. He also strives to give each vintage the same attention and care. Thus, he raises all his wines in oak barrels and renews each year a part of his barrels park. With nearly 17 hectares of vineyards, the estate covers a dozen villages mainly based on the Côte de Beaune. Vincent Bachelet perpetuates the paternal lineage of Bernard Bachelet with a rational, intelligent and simple viticulture. It respects a demanding quality charter: high proportion of old vines, controlled yields, cautious manual harvesting with sorting of the grapes before a vinification little interventionist.

Other Info – Vincent’s domain has 18th Century cellars that allow for the wines to rest at peace!

our visit to the domaine

People often believe that it is always fun tasting wines all week long in France with the people making the actual stuff. However, in all seriousness, beyond taking extensive notes, one doesn’t always feel like drinking at 9 o’clock in the morning. However, always ready to sacrifice ourselves for the good of those in Australia, we put on a brave face and drove in direction of Chassagne-Montrachet for our appointment with Vincent Bachelet’s daughter, Aurore.
